The Saint Christopher Novena

Day 9: Final perseverance

The ninth and final day of the novena asks for the grace of final perseverance: the safe completion of the journey of the Catholic life.

The crossing finished

The whole Catholic life is one long crossing. Saint Christopher finished his crossing in martyrdom. Every petitioner asks for the same grace: to arrive at the far shore with Christ still borne on the shoulders.

Prayer

Saint Christopher, intercede for me at the hour of my death. May I finish the crossing of this life having borne Christ all the way across. Amen.

Conclude with one Our Father, one Hail Mary, and one Glory Be. The novena is now complete.
