Privacy Policy
This page describes the data Daily Ordo collects, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices available to you.
Who we are
Daily Ordo is operated as an independent Catholic devotional content site at https://dailyordo.com. Editorial and operational contact: [email protected].
What we collect
Server logs
Our hosting provider (Cloudflare Pages) automatically records standard web server logs for every request, including IP address, user agent, requested URL, referrer, and timestamp. These logs are retained for a short period for operational and security purposes (rate limiting, abuse detection) and are not used for advertising or sold to third parties.
Email subscribers
When you submit the signup form, we collect your email address and your topic preferences (Saint of the Day, novenas). If you enroll in a novena, we additionally store the novena slug and the date of enrollment. This data is processed by Resend (our email service provider, based in the United States) and stored in Cloudflare D1 (an edge SQLite database) for the operation of the daily-drip Worker. You can withdraw consent at any time by using the unsubscribe link in any of our emails.
Analytics (Google Analytics 4)
With your consent (via the cookie banner shown on your first visit), we load Google Analytics 4 to count anonymous, aggregated traffic on the site. GA4 is configured with IP anonymization. You may decline analytics on the banner; in that case GA4 is not loaded and no analytics tracking takes place. You may also clear this site's browser data at any time to revert your earlier choice.
Affiliate networks
When you click a recommended product link (marked with rel="nofollow sponsored"), the destination affiliate
network may set cookies on your browser to track the resulting
transaction. We currently participate in:
- Hallow's affiliate program (via Impact.com). Privacy notice: impact.com/privacy-policy.
- Catholic Company's affiliate program (via Commission Junction / CJ Affiliate). CJ's services privacy notice (US): cj.com/legal/privacy-policy-services-us. CJ's services privacy notice (UK/EU): cj.com/legal/privacy-policy-services-uk.
The data passed to the affiliate network when you click a link includes the link's tracking parameters and any data your browser ordinarily sends in an HTTP request (referrer, user agent, IP). We do not pass your email address, name, or other identifiers we have collected on this site to the affiliate networks.
What we do not do
- We do not sell your personal data.
- We do not run third-party advertising networks (no display ads, no banner exchanges).
- We do not collect data from users we know to be under sixteen years of age. Affiliate-network tracking is similarly restricted by the partner's own policies.
- We do not collect special-category personal data (religious or political affiliation, health data, sexual orientation, etc.) beyond what you voluntarily disclose by choosing to subscribe to a Catholic-themed newsletter.
Cookies
The site uses cookies and similar storage in the following cases:
- Cookie consent state. A small
localStorageentry records whether you have accepted or declined analytics, so the banner does not recur on every page load. - Google Analytics (only if accepted). GA4 sets its
_gafirst-party cookie to recognize repeat visits in the anonymized aggregate. Default expiry: two years. - Affiliate-network cookies (only if you click a recommended product). Hallow / Impact.com and Catholic Company / CJ each set their own cookies on their domain to attribute purchases to our referral.
If you decline analytics, no GA4 cookies are set. You may also clear all of this site's cookies and storage at any time through your browser; on your next visit, you will be re-prompted by the consent banner.
Your rights
Depending on your jurisdiction (US state privacy laws, UK GDPR, EU GDPR, etc.), you may have the right to request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data; to object to or restrict processing; and to file a complaint with your data protection authority.
To exercise any of these rights with respect to data we hold (your email subscription, topic preferences, novena enrollments), email [email protected]. We will respond within thirty days and confirm in writing what we held and what action we took.
For data held by Resend (our email processor), Cloudflare (our host and D1 store), Google (analytics), or our affiliate partners, please refer to the privacy notices of those companies; we will assist with onward requests where we are able.
Children
The site is intended for adult Catholic readers. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone we know to be under sixteen. If you believe a person under sixteen has subscribed to our emails, contact us at the address above and we will remove the subscription.
Changes to this policy
We will update this page when our practices change. The "Last updated" date at the foot of this page reflects the most recent revision. For material changes (a new affiliate network, a new analytics provider, a change in how cookies are set), we will issue a fresh consent prompt so that any prior acceptance does not silently extend to new uses.
