The Saint Maximilian Kolbe Novena
Day 9: Final perseverance
The ninth and final day of the novena, on the eve of Saint Maximilian's feast on August 14, asks for the grace of final perseverance.
Final perseverance through Mary
Saint Maximilian's last act on earth was an act of Marian consecration: he died on the vigil of the Assumption, with the name of the Immaculate Mary on his lips. The Catholic Church has long held that those who die in the friendship of the Blessed Virgin Mary, faithful to their consecration, are received by her into the company of the saints.
Prayer
Saint Maximilian, intercede for me at the hour of my death. May I die clothed in the Marian friendship I have begun in this novena. May the Immaculata receive me at the end as she received you. Amen.
Conclude with one Our Father, one Hail Mary, and one Glory Be. The novena is now complete.
