Day 2: Mother of the Blessed Virgin Mary

The second day attends to Saint Anne's particular vocation: to be the mother of the Mother of God.

Mother of Mary

Saint Anne was the woman in whose body the Blessed Virgin Mary was conceived free from original sin. The Catholic Church has always venerated her as the immediate human channel of God's preparation for the Incarnation.

Prayer

Saint Anne, you who bore Mary in your womb, intercede for mothers in this generation. May they raise their daughters as you raised yours, in the love of God. Amen.
