The Saint Anne Novena

Day 9: A holy death

The ninth and final day of the novena asks Saint Anne for the grace of a holy death.

Saint Anne at the deathbed

The Catholic tradition has invoked Saint Anne at the hour of death, both for the petitioner and for the family. Her own death, in the company of her daughter and Joseph, is the icon of the Catholic peaceful death.

Prayer

Saint Anne, be present to me at the hour of my death. Bring me the consolation of the sacraments. Lead me to my own meeting with Christ, your grandson, in the company of all the saints. Amen.

Conclude with one Our Father, one Hail Mary, and one Glory Be. The novena is now complete.
