Day 7: The hidden life
The seventh day attends to Saint Faustina's hidden, simple life: a religious sister in a small Polish convent, unknown to the world during her lifetime.
Hiddenness as fidelity
Saint Faustina was an obscure religious sister of modest education. The convent assigned her to ordinary domestic work: cooking, gardening, portering. Her interior life was extraordinary, but her exterior life was deliberately ordinary. The Catholic vocation is not always to public greatness; for most, it is to faithfulness in small things.
Prayer
Saint Faustina, you who served Christ in obscurity, teach me to be faithful in the small duties of my own state in life. Where I am tempted by the desire to be seen and admired, recall me to the hidden Catholic life. Amen.
Conclude with one Our Father, one Hail Mary, and one Glory Be.
