Day 2: The Visitation

The second day attends to Mary's visit to Elizabeth, the moment when the Holy Family stepped into communion with the wider family of cousins.

Family beyond the household

The Holy Family was not isolated. Mary went to assist her elderly cousin Elizabeth, who was carrying John the Baptist in old age. The Catholic vocation to family extends to the cousins, the in-laws, the elderly relations who depend on us.

Prayer

Holy Family, by the Visitation, teach us to extend our care to the relations outside our immediate household. Bless our extended family. Bring healing where there is division. Amen.
