Day 3: The practice of mercy
The third day attends to the active works of mercy that Christ asked Saint Faustina to undertake.
Mercy in word, deed, and prayer
Christ told Saint Faustina that mercy must be lived in three ways: in word (the merciful response in conversation), in deed (the corporal works of mercy), and in prayer (intercession for those who do not pray for themselves). Each Catholic is called to all three.
Prayer
Saint Faustina, you who lived the three forms of mercy with such fidelity, obtain for me the grace to do likewise. Today, let me speak one merciful word, do one merciful deed, offer one merciful prayer. Amen.
Conclude with one Our Father, one Hail Mary, and one Glory Be.
