Day 3: Widowhood

Day 3 attends to Rita's widowhood after Paolo's violent death.

Catholic widowhood

After Paolo's death, Rita refused the demand of her sons that they avenge their father. She prayed instead that the cycle of vengeance end with her husband.

Saint Rita, intercede for widows. Help them bear the loss. Help them refuse the bitterness that is the temptation of grief. Amen.
